An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 struck central California early Wednesday morning that could be felt as far north as San Francisco, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The USGS website initially reported the temblor's magnitude as 4.6, but later adjusted the measurement to a magnitude 4.5 quake.
The quake was reported at 12:51 a.m. approximately 6 miles south-southeast of San Juan Bautista and some 45 miles south-southeast of San Jose City Hall, according to the USGS website.
The quake registered a depth of approximately 5.2 miles the USGS said. There was no preliminary warning of tsunami due to the earthquake.
