The New Year has begun on a frustrating note for many Apple iPhone users as they are forced to deal with another alarm glitch, for the second time in two months. The company has also confirmed the iOS bug that causes one off alarms to not function properly on iPhone and iPod touch devices.
APPLE customers have expressed their frustration on Twitter after a bug in the iPhone 4 caused the alarm clock to malfunction on New Year's Day. Thousands of angry iPhone users overslept and were even late for work and flights yesterday after a New Years Eve software glitch cancelled the phone's alarms.
The bug has caused one-time alarms to stop working on January 1 and 2, causing users around the world to oversleep, miss appointments and flights.
Instead, thousands of smart phone owners got a surprise lie-in and many were forced to blame the glitch for being late for work.
The bug only affects users of iOS 4 - specifically, versions 4.2.1, 4.1, and 4.0.2 of the OS, PC Magazine reported. It does not affect those who have set recurring alarms.
The bug was the latest in a series of embarrassing blunders for Apple after the iPhone failed to cope when the clocks went back one hour on October 31.
